Words have meaning at American Writes, and they are chosen carefully. Do not allow your emotional or political leanings taint your perceptions and definition, or you may find yourself easily offended by your own ignorance.

American Writes specifically does not publish with the itent or purpose of offending, so if you find the posts offensive, you should read them again. They are intended to make you think, which is a hard thinng to do in this sound bite era and 300-word blog postings.

We do not limit our blog post length. If something needs saying, it requires the words already assigned it, and we are simply publishing those words.

Some definitions as we use them on this blog are necessary, which we place below and will add to as we see fit, or as you suggest in the comments below. Once your comment has been approved we will add it to this list and give you proper citation, and then remove the comment to keep the page in reasonable order without having multiple confusing attempts at definition.

Alphabet Kid

The “Anybody But Chet” crowd that will suborn their own Constitutional and Conservative principles to vote for someone just because they are not Chet Edwards, the liberal Congressman representing Texas District 17 in the United States House of Representatives. By this philosophy, a child molester is better than Chet Edwards for these people, because principle does not matter – the ends justifies the means. This definition particularly applies to the Tea Party organization leaders in the District and those who choose to follow them (some people within the Tea Parties are members of factions that do NOT agree with the leaders and therefore are NOT Alphabet Kids.).

FFC

Floundering Flores Campaign. This acronym is used as a tag on the blog and was coined by American Herald Scott Kimble to sum up and describe the downward spiral of the ill-advised Bill Flores Campaign for the Texas District 17 Congressional Seat. Much like saying “Ditto” to Rush Limbaugh, expressing FFC in a post or comment indicates the author knows the scoop and is up to date on the latest as Bill Flores continues to allow Washington-based rookie political advisers dig his election chances into a deeper grave.
