Chet Edwards’ Record On… Abortion While “Representing” Texas 17

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

A continuation of the Chet Edwards’ On… series.

THIS is what Chet Edwards repeatedlysupports with his votes. Don't turn away! Look hard and Remember in November!

How has Chet Edwards voted, representing you and me here in Texas District 17? He claims to be Pro-Life but doesn’t think the government should be making decisions that usurp a woman’s right to choose.

So what does the recordshow, in relation to that public stance?

Chet Edwards…

Chet Edwards’ Record On… His Real And Complete Record “Representing” Texas 17

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

Edwards' voting record - the only thing that counts - proves he is a Moderate Liberal Populist - probably the only one in Texas 17.

Back when we discussed the Battle At Midway, I told you wwe would start hitting hard on Chet Edwards. Since he refused our request for an interview in order to explain his stance on the issues he has voted on we can only provide you his voting record…which speaks for itself.

Now it begins…

From now until Election Day, American Writes will provide for you the definitive list of Chet Edwards’ failure to represent Texas District 17 – one of the most Conservative districts represented by a Democrat in the entire nation.

I do this not at the behest of the Bill Flores For Congress campaign (they still won’t talk to me!), but so you know why I am personally not in favor of Chet Edwards.

In fact (more…)

Texas 17 Congressman Chet Edwards Refuses Interview Requests From American Writes

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

The Chet Edwards campaign has refused  to interview with me, both a consitutuent and an acknowledged member of the media.

We contacted the Congressman several times and have been ignored at every attempt. Our most formal attempt was via email, and that request is here.

Campaign Manager Alex Youn received the email and did not reply.

A follow-up was similarly ignored.

Unfortunately, that only allows us the opportunity to view Mr. Edwards, his Congressional record, and his campaign activity through (more…)

District 17 And The Battle At Midway

Monday, July 26th, 2010

Not to be confused with the watershed event in the Pacific Theater during World War II, or the small hamlet in East Texas – though that Midway (75852) has more in common with the topic du jour.

But only because it happens to reside in the 17th Congressional District of Texas.

But even that is insignificant, and the likelihood that either candidate has even visited Midway, except to drive through or fly over it, is pretty remote.

But you can be guaranteed there are Chet Edwards supporters there, and Bill Flores supporters there. I know, because one of each has contacted me. (more…)

Bill Flores Wants Me To Go Away – Blocks Me On Twitter!

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Oh, boo-freaking-hoo. Take my plane and go home…

See the screenshots below, first one of me logged in under my @KristoferCowles Twitter account which Flores blocked and you can see streaming on the right sidebar of this blog, and the next being one under a different Twitter account I have. These screenshots were taken within five seconds of each other (You can click on the image to get the full screen view):

Twitter 101: Blocking someone does not stop them from following your tweets. All they need is the RSS feed of your timeline; a Twitter account you don’t know about; an RSS feed of a search for your handle; follow hashtags you might fall under; or all of the above. Blocking someone DOES mean you won’t see their tweets that mention you and they can’t see your tweets on your Twitter timeline or theirs – which doesn’t matter if they use any of the above methods to keep up with you.

It also does not stop them from responding to your tweet with a tweet of their own referencing your recent tweet – which is probably why I was blocked – but it does (more…)

Do The Math District 17 Conservative

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

A recent article in the Cleburne Times Review June 4th issue should cause Bill Flores to start taking this blog’s stand on the election seriously.

Applying the logic the Flores camp used in the Primary, Chet has “gone negative.” According to them, anything that Bill says that can (and will) be used against him is negative.  Again Bill, welcome to the real world of politics in America.  Unfortunately for me, Kristofer has scooped me on that story so I will need to skip ahead to the next one.

U Up U Down Gets It – U In U Out Texas 17?

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Memorial Day weekend.  8 hour drive to the Davis Mountains underway, listening to the radio, bouncing along in the Jeep, thinking of beautiful scenery, good food, hunting some wild pigs, just about anything except politics.  I have been so wrapped up in the CD 17 and State Senate 22 races I had forgotten what it was like not to think about the sorry state our Nation and State are in.

We arrived in Fort Davis after the day’s festivities at the U Up U Down Ranch – fifth and sixth grade classes experiencing ranching.  Fathers, mothers, grandparents, uncles and aunts demonstrating ranch life, shoeing a horse, fixing the windmill, roping and branding the steers, listening to songs around the campfire.  The purpose:  teaching children the heritage of ranching and overcoming the daily bombardment of political correctness and socialistic indoctrination against it.  Strike 1! Congratulations Bill Flores!

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Congratulations to Bill Flores – Republican Nominee for the District 17 Congressional Seat!

We now have someone to run against Chet Edwards, and he’s a fine candidate against which the candle of Edwards pales.

Disappointed as I am about Rob Curnock losing the District 17 Congressional Race, it’s time for all Republicans to put the ABC Rule into effect and support Bill Flores for the seat currently held by Chet Edwards. As a non-Republican and a Conservative, I think you should support Bill Flores, as well.

If you voted in the Republican Primary, you need to vote for Bill Flores in November. Anything else would be bad.

Flores’ win doesn’t answer questions that will surely come up from the Edwards camp (this reporter already knows their strategy out of the gate, within mere hours of this primary being done!), but Bill Flores has the resources to fight this fight. It will be brutal, and some questions will need to be answered.

Fortunately for me, I can hang up the researcher hat, and archive all my Chet Edwards stuff. Rob Curnock would have needed every volunteer effort available, and I was ready with a Chet Edwards exposé every week with pictures, audio, video, and supporting documentation covering years of contradictions, sellouts, votes and anti-Constitutional activity.

However, with Flores as the victor, he will have well-paid campaign staff that will do his research for him, and I can return to finding work to support my family. My files will sit idly by waiting for another time.

While I’m not below assisting Bill Flores in the coming months to ensure that Chet Edwards loses, I am the last person he would turn to for help. So, I continue my national work, and invite you to join in. I’ll be there if Bill needs me, and he needn’t even say he’s honored to have my support and vote.

Congratulations, kudos and accolades to Bill Flores. He can be a much better Congressman than Chet Edwards, and he has my full support and vote. Since I alone am irrelevant to the cause, please make sure you do your part.

It’s as easy as ABC.

Get A ROPE: Blank Check And Lone Star ‘Lie’ Catch Up With Bill Flores

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

No blank check?

Bill Flores uses his acronym “ROPE” to describe Reid, Obama, Pelosi, and Edwards. And he claims we didn’t give them a blank check in his latest mail piece:

Monday, the Curnock campaign released its latest Radio ad:

Voting Record

Now, if you don’t vote, you give the victors a free ride. And, as my dad always says, “If you don’t vote, you can’t gripe.” (Dad uses a different word.)

The Lone Star Project broke this story a week ago. Read the article (more…)

Why Bill Flores is NOT the Conservative or Pro-Life Choice

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

As I have traveled about the district lately, speaking with party and club leaders as well as voters and media, it seems the underlying reason why they aren’t voting for Bill Flores is a common one. Aside from the fact that Rob Curnock is simply the better qualified and more Conservative candidate who has lived in the district, voted in the district, and worked in the district for decades, the reasons why a conservative cannot vote for Flores start to show up after all the superlative reasons for voting for Curnock have been stated. So to speak, Flores’ qualifications fall below even the simplest reason to vote for Curnock.

Party Leaders are probably telling Curnock he can raise these issues as legitimate, because they are facts, but Curnock doesn’t have to sell against Flores with facts when Flores himself already touts them.

So, these are the facts, the first two being the ones that have been universally raised by the people I’ve encountered – and all facts that are referenced elsewhere on this blog if not linked directly in this piece (more…)
