Voting NOTA In District 17’s Congressional Race From The Founding Father’s Perspective

Friday, June 18th, 2010

From Dead Poets Society:

Keating: Now we all have a great need for acceptance, but you must trust that your beliefs are unique, your own, even though others may think them odd or unpopular. Even though the herd may go “That’s bad.” Robert Frost said, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood and I, I took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.” I want you to find your own walk right now, your own way of striding, pacing: any direction, anything you want. Whether it’s proud or silly. Anything. Gentlemen, the courtyard is yours. You don’t have to perform. Just make it for yourself. Mr. Dalton, will you be joining us?

Charles: Exercising the right not to walk.

Keating: Thank you, Mr. Dalton. You just illustrated the point. Swim against the stream.

Robin Williams’ Keating may not be tutoring a Founding Father, but his pupil exemplifies and he protects  that which is inherent in all of us and guaranteed by the Constitution.

Our right to vote.

American Herald Scott Kimble catches some grief for being the point man on the American Writes position that true conservatives won’t misrepresent themselves by voting against their conservative conscience and selecting RINO Bill Flores at the ballot. I’ve had to remove from public view some comments that attacked him personally instead of addressing the topic, a violation of the policies of this blog; and Scott has had some engaging conversation on his facebook page.

We contend that, without marked change or proof from Bill Flores himself that he really is Conservative and, more importantly, Constitutionally-loyal, then voting for him only places, if he wins, another RINO at the beck and call of the failed Republican Party. We assert this in many posts on this blog, with particular focus on Texas 17’s own Alphabet Kids.

It seems Scott and American Writes are not alone (more…)

Texas 17 Is Going To Hell – I’m Going To Washington

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Constitutional and Conservative Bill Randall is in the runoff on June 22 in North Carolina 13. He’s against a Country Club Republican who is attempting to hide his anti-Tea Party and Pro-Choice leanings.

Constitutional and Conservative Jaynee Germond is running in Oregon 4 against a late-comer rich guy picked by the NRCC, after running for a year against another relatively regular guy in the race. The rich dude just got in and dropped a quarter million into the race. Sound familiar? The primary is tomorrow.

Constitutional and Conservative Jake Towne is in Pennsylvania. Jake is an Independent Constitutional Candidate who wants to represent District 15 – the Lehigh Valley – where my own now-liberal Dad went to school.

Constitutional and Conservative John Dennis is in California 8, the seat Nancy Pelosi holds.

Constitutional and Conservative Donald Strong is in Tennessee; Alex Snitker is in Florida; RJ Harris is in Oklahoma, as is Howard Houchen. And Tony Gentile is in Louisiana.

And these are just a few. US House and Senate Candidates.

I have been spinning my wheels on Constitution-Sovereignty-denying and recent convert to Republican Party Pro-Choicer Bill Flores and I accept now that it’s a futile effort were I to continue writing alone. All it does is take me away from the obligations I have to these people above and their genuinely Constitution-based ideologies. So I won’t be writing alone… (more…)

Media And #TX17 County Party Leaders Know Soros Funded William Flores Is A Democrat

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

*sigh*

Why do I have to do all the work here? Where’s the media…the responsible press? I’m not calling out names…yet, but they ALL know this:

William Flores voted in the Democrat Primary of 2008. (more…)

Chet Edwards And The Number Blunder

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

chet-edwardsFirst, a note to my most frequent visitors, the staff at Chet Edwards’ Office: Hi, Leila and Phil! I won’t be in-district this weekend. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other people around here who won’t keep you accountable. You might think about a back door when Chet goes to the George Bush Library to his private meeting with the Boy Scouts. Just a suggestion. I mean, I have notified folks he’ll be there at 10AM Saturday. And I’ll be giving the event its own post later today.

Now to the numbers…

Chet Edwards is having his telephone town hall meeting tonight. If you only have a cell phone, like yours truly, you won’t be invited. Seems the calls are only going to land lines, and they called yesterday to tell you they will be calling today to allow you to participate. This is evidently not a call-in…they are calling out. But they have my cell phone number…I gave it to them on my first visit…but they didn’t call me.

So let’s do a pre-game… (more…)

A View From The Rushin’ Front

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

This is what I posted as my first contribution as a Blogger on “The People’s Mob” Blog run by American Liberty Alliance.

Back when television was decent, there was a lighthearted show called Hogan’s Heroes, all about life in a German POW Camp. And punishment for

An American Hero Surrounded By Socialist Zeros
An American Hero Surrounded By Socialist Zeros

any of the Germans who messed up guarding the camp was to be sent to the Russian Front. The mere mention of such an exile brought the highest ranking officers to comical shudders of fear.

Much like the Keystone antics of Colonel Klink and Sergeant Schulz exposed the sheer ridiculousness of Nazism (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or National Socialist German Workers’ Party), I feel as though the inmates are running the asylum, and we’re looking at the advancing Socialist Plague.

I reside in Texas House District 17, one of the most conservative districts in the nation…and am supposed to be represented by Democrat Chet Edwards, who has a more Liberal voting record than Maxine Waters. Yep…that Maxine Waters. (more…)

Chet Edwards Press Release Refusing Town Hall Meetings

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Here it is…

PRESS RELEASE

“Congressman Edwards welcomes open, honest public debate on the important issue of health care reform.

“Unfortunately, when one of the protest leaders in Bryan was asked last week if his group would respect Congressman Edwards’ request to honor the rights of all citizens to be heard by agreeing not to disrupt a town hall, he said, “If you’re invoking rage like Arlen Specter did the other day, he (Chet Edwards) deserves to be shouted down.”

“Sadly, statements like that make it clear that the real agenda is to disrupt, not encourage, a public discussion on health care.

“In addition to numerous meetings with health care providers, business leaders and everyday citizens, Congressman Edwards intends to have a telephone town hall meeting later this month where citizens from all 12 counties can participate in a dialogue on health care.

“Congressman Edwards will carefully study any health care reform legislation before casting his vote, but he will oppose any Canadian style, single-payer plan that socializes our health care system or prevents people from keeping the quality, private health care plan of their choice.”

Note that he is referring to a prior engagement with constituents, not the 250 peaceful protestors who asked for a meeting and signed a pledge not to disrupt the meeting.

No date was given on the Press Release as presented on the local media’s web site. I have copied it here since documents and text tend to go missing from the web these days. It was originally at URL: http://www.kbtx.com/healthcarereform/headlines/52917192.html

This release was not available on Edwards’ Official House of Representatives Site.

Let’s look at this release seritim:

The First Paragraph – No, Congressman Edwards does not “welcomes open, honest public debate on the important issue of health care reform.” He has yet to speak publicly to any constituents about it who want to speak to him about it.

Second Paragraph – Who was that person, Congressman? We record our encounters with you to make sure you don’t lie. And if you DO lie to us the way Specter lies to his constituents, we won’t let you get away with it. We won’t shout you down, but we’ll expose you for the liar you are.

ThirdParagraph: The real agenda was in front of your office TODAY, and you are referring to something a week old? You will let ONE PERSON define your constituents and not the 250 who showed up today to peacefully ask for some of your time?

Fourth Paragraph: The Founding Fathers did not have telephones, Chet. They WANTED you to meet us face-to-face.

Fifth Paragraph: The Plan before the House is not a single payer plan, but it will lead to one – which is why you can vote for this plan and say you didn’t vote for single-payer. The Plan before the House also says you can keep what you have, BUT ONCE YOU SWITCH, LEAVE, OR WANT TO GET INSURANCE IT HAS TO BE GOVERNMENT RUN INSURANCE.

I can say nothing else except that Chet Edwards lies.

And Chet acts like a Coward.

TX17 Chet Edwards Still Says No to Town Hall Meeting

Monday, August 10th, 2009

UPDATE: 2009-08-10 8:10PM -- New Video Added that shares the audio of our request for a face to face town hall meeting:

Well, we asked again…

Mug Shots of The Mob

Mug Shots of The Mob

Today at Noon 250 people showed up at Congressman Chet Edwards’ office in Bryan, Texas, to peacefully ask for a town hall meeting. His field representative, Phil Shackeford, said only the phone meeting was still scheduyled.

And that was for, as Phil put it, “…Doctors, nurse, those who have a stake in healthcare…”

Last I checked, every citizen in District 17 was human and occasionally got sick. That would make them “stakeholders”.

The audio and the video tells the take.  If you need to fast forward the audio to the time when we get to talk to Phil, it’s at about 50 minutes in. The line was long, as you will see in the video. (more…)
