An American Write And A Texas 17 Wrong

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Greetings my fellow Conservatives, RINO’s and liberals hoping to gather more ammunition against your opponents.  It is a great honor for me to join Kristofer in his ongoing fight against the socialistic agenda of the current administration.

Now I understand how the Dutch boy felt as he held back the flood that would destroy him, his family and his town.  Desperation, hopelessness and fear of losing those things most precious to him had to be overwhelming.  However, through perseverance he saved all of them.

We Conservatives are trying to just stop the bleeding away of our freedoms while the liberal hoard finds new ways of destroying this nation.  Electing “moderate” Republicans will not do the trick.  Back in the late 1980’s, we fought the “big tent/moderate” wing of the Republican Party at every turn.  Their leadership discovered that drastic change would not work, so slowly but surely they infiltrated leadership of the Conservative movement and took over.  In doing so, they taught the Democrats how to get their puppets elected by acting like Republicans then using their incumbency to hold on.  Thus the term RINO was born.

Texas Congressional District 17 now has a RINO as our (more…)

Heralding An American Write – Welcoming Scott Kimble

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Tomorrow American Writes will be publishing the first blog post from someone other than me, The American Writer.

Scott Kimble will be our first American Herald. You can read all about him and what an American Herald is by clicking on the new category at the very top of the page – American Heralds.

I am very glad to welcome Scott. He brings a conservative perspective with a “boots on the ground” experience within the Central Texas political environment, and has been intimately involved for the last year with the Rob Curnock campaign. If his first submission is any indication – you will enjoy Scott’s missives and musings quite a bit!

Scott comes out of the gate on his first post pulling no punches and heading straight between the eyes of (more…)

TX17 Chet Edwards Still Says No to Town Hall Meeting

Monday, August 10th, 2009

UPDATE: 2009-08-10 8:10PM -- New Video Added that shares the audio of our request for a face to face town hall meeting:

Well, we asked again…

Mug Shots of The Mob

Mug Shots of The Mob

Today at Noon 250 people showed up at Congressman Chet Edwards’ office in Bryan, Texas, to peacefully ask for a town hall meeting. His field representative, Phil Shackeford, said only the phone meeting was still scheduyled.

And that was for, as Phil put it, “…Doctors, nurse, those who have a stake in healthcare…”

Last I checked, every citizen in District 17 was human and occasionally got sick. That would make them “stakeholders”.

The audio and the video tells the take.  If you need to fast forward the audio to the time when we get to talk to Phil, it’s at about 50 minutes in. The line was long, as you will see in the video. (more…)

Today’s American Thought

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Today’s American Thought is posted to Twitter twice a day, mid-morning and mid-evening Central Time. They are quotes, or condensed quotes from Americans and others around the world who have embodied the American Spirit with their words. I post the same quote twice to catch those people who have different schedules and may find my morning post gets so far down on the list of tweets they are trying to catch up with that they might miss these meaningful mentions.

This listing is updated weekly here on this page to give the full quotation and the citation…something that is difficult to do in the 140 character limit of Twitter.

I hope you enjoy! (more…)

What Does It Mean To Be Anti-American?

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Well, that depends on what you mean by Anti-American.

It seems some of my Liberal friends take offense at being labeled with such a moniker, and don’t understand what someone who believes in American Rights means when they say someone is Anti-American or Anti-America.

Here’s what I mean: (more…)

Why America Happened Here… Part II

Friday, June 26th, 2009

[Read Part One Here]

In the 1840s, Manifest Destiny was the cry of the citizenry. 1845 saw John K. O’Sullivan, a magazine editor, write that no nation on earth should be allowed to interfere with America’s “manifest destiny to overspread the continent allotted by Providence for the free development of our yearly multiplying millions,” echoing in popular sentiment the subtle but powerful Monroe Doctrine of two decades earlier.

It has been a prevailing axiom that as a tool of God, that which benefits America benefits the world and mankind. This had become an awesome and awe-inspiring prescription that begat results that were nothing short of miraculous reminiscent of divine intervention and divine right. (more…)

Why America Happened Here… Part I

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Never in the history of the world has the growth of a people in their social, political, technical, intellectual and entrepreneurial pursuits been so phenomenal as what has happened on this continent in the last 150 years, built on the four centuries previous to that and the 2000 generations preceding the time of a Genoan explorer. Whether Chian, Alexandrian, Egyptian, Greek or Roman, these cultures are mere sentinels in history, watching their very shadows eclipsed by the blossoming of a land, culture, and idea unique to our time and meant for the ages. Roller Coasters

Sunday, July 22nd, 2007

Roller coasters.

You think of them and a smile comes to your face. Even if they make you sick, there’s something exhilarating about them. Even if you can only watch while others take their ride, it’s a metaphor for life that everyone has to ride. Roller coasters make you feel so alive.

Right now, we’re watching David & Susan, sitting in the seat right behind Cole, as he takes a ride on a coaster you and I would never sign up for, no matter what. (more…)
