Texas 17 Congressman Chet Edwards Refuses Interview Requests From American Writes

The Chet Edwards campaign has refused to interview with me, both a consitutuent and an acknowledged member of the media.
We contacted the Congressman several times and have been ignored at every attempt. Our most formal attempt was via email, and that request is here.
Campaign Manager Alex Youn received the email and did not reply.
A follow-up was similarly ignored.
Unfortunately, that only allows us the opportunity to view Mr. Edwards, his Congressional record, and his campaign activity through our eyes without the benefit of his explanation.
That has not been a winning strategy for the Bill Flores campaign, and I do not suspect it will endear Mr. Edwards to any of his hoped-for voters, either.
We thought it appropriate to start the Edwards examination with this post, to acknowledge that we had made an honest attempt to reach Mr. Edwards and setup an interview time with him.

Dear American: Writes
Chet Edwards is a liar and his biggest lie is that he voted against Obama’s Health Care Reform legislation. The truth is that Edwards voted “for” Obamacare (the Slaughter Resolution on 3/18/10) before he voted “against” Obamacare a day or two later. Edwards’ vote for Obamacare told Pelosi she had enough votes to pass Obamacare without Edwards vote and she allowed him to cast a “no” vote. Edwards, though saying he was against Obamacare, did absolutely nothing to prevent its passage and was seen “high-fiving” his Democrat comrades when it passed. The people of the 17th Congressional District are not aware of the shenanegans Chet and the Democrats pulled passing Obamacare and if they knew he would be soundly defeated. I hope your efforts help expose Chet Edwards for the liar that he is.
Sincerely,
Jep Tatum
Granbury, TX
p.s. Chet knows his “against” Obamacare vote is saving his bacon in the District. And when one of his supporters called my home to promote Chet the first issue the supporter wanted to talk about was Chet’s vote against Obamacare. This is a HUGE issue and one, if properly understood by the voters, would spell Chet’s overwhelming defeat.

Thanks for chiming in, Jep.
Chet’s voting record is very telling, as you point out, and his timing on his Cap & Trade vote will be the focus of more than one post here, too.
I think if people look at American Writes objectively as you are, they’ll know that Chet Edwards is no friend to the Ditrict. I look forward to your continued input as we go down this road!
Cheers!
