Former District 17 Johnson County GOP Chair Calls Bill Flores A RINO And Chet Edwards Satan, Too
Posted By: Kristofer Cowles on Saturday, July 24, 2010 @ 9:07 AM
It seems Dan Hunt can’t get out of Texas 17 politics fast enough. Now he’s joined the chorus of calling yours truly a Liberal plant on Chet Edwards’ payroll. Maybe the former Johnson County Republican Party Chair and County Attorney should hasten his move to Beaumont. The telecom union down there could use his weird style of argument in their contract nefotiations.
Dan is the first one to call Bill Flores a RINO and Chet Edwards Satan in the same discussion. Randy agreed with him.
This still has to do with the issue of current Hood County GOP Chair Randy Shelton calling GOP Congressional Candidate Bill Flores a RINO and then lying about it.
It’s actually the same conversation, but Dan has taken it upon himself to attack me and not address the issues.
This is a sure sign that the Conservatives in the GOP are a bit dazed and confused by having to support a RINO for Congress.
They don’t have to. They could stand on principle, yet they don’t.
Why?
Because power means more than principle to them.
So they will eat their own instead of unite and force their candidate to toe the Conservative line.
I won’t rehash the entire conversation with Dan. You can read it here. And here’s the hard copy to this point, in case you can’t access the facebook page or Dan follows his leader and erases his messages.
Just know that he’s not the only one, and the true nature of Texas Republican Politics will continue to out itself with me as it’s whipping boy.
All this, and it’s simply more fodder for Chet Edwards’ win, when it could simply be a Conservative victory if folks weren’t so dead-set on power.
Principle always wins.
Oh…one more thing.
I’m still waiting for Dan to make the call.

Shall I publish the facebook message you sent me begging for a truce? Now you have proven yourself a liar, as well as someone who has no grasp of politics. You beg for a truce, and then attempt (and fail) to stab me in the back.
Yes, Bill Flores is a RINO. I have no problem saying that. Have I ever erased any of my posts anywhere? No. You made that up. Yes, I talked to Rob. He said you did a little bit for his campaign. I’m still curious as to why I never even heard your name until about a week ago. That’s when you started posting your idiocy about District 17 on facebook.
Your plan for District 17 is to repeat what conservatives did in the 2008 Presidential election. We had a RINO as our Republican nominee. Conservatives didn’t vote. Look what that got us. Great plan, Kristofer!
You claim to be a conservative. And in the next breath you suggest we allow Chet Edwards to walk back into office without a fight. You may have Rob Curnock fooled. But, you aren’t fooling me. You are no conservative if you are stupid enough to not vote. You are urging conservatives to do exactly what Chet Edwards wants them to do. Sounds like a liberal hack to me.
Next time, don’t beg for a truce and then hide on your blog posting lies. I thought when you begged for the truce, you might be someone worth knowing. I see from this blog post that you are not worth me wasting my time on.
You don’t need to reply. I won’t read anything more you have to say. Any one reading this would be wise to quit reading your weakly disguised liberal garbage. You should go back to liberal land and know that your plan has failed. Republicans will vote in overwhelming numbers, and we will take back the House and District 17. No thanks to you.

You can publish it, Dan. I’m going to. I never said you erased anything you posted…that was what was so refreshing.
Go tell Chet he has to send another minion. You don’t seem to be working out too well for him.

Kristopher, I appreciate you posting the facebook exchange. It demonstrates that I discuss based on facts and logic, and that you base your argument on emotions. I am surprised you didn’t erase my response to this blog post. I fully expected you to. However, it is still a very sad statement about you that you beg for a truce, then attack me in secret. It shows you have no spine, in addition to having no clue politically.
You still haven’t explained to anyone how keeping Chet in office by not voting is preferrable to getting Republican control of that seat. It’s this simple: If you are advocating for conervatives to not vote, you are advocating for the Democrat to maintain control of that seat. That’s what happened in the 2008 Presidential election. How’d that work out for you? So, by encouraging conservatives to not vote in Texas CD17 you are actively campaigning for Chet Edwards. If you can’t understand that logic, that’s sad. I am betting the few who read this blog will easily understand that fact.

We’ve discussed this ad nauseum. Dan, and you said you wouldn’t read anymore. So there’s no sense in me continuing with responses I have already had. I’ve explained that I know the consequences of Conservatives following the advice of John Quincy Adams already. And I’ve explaine on the blog that that’s not my fault.
And why do you continue this discussion if you think I’m a liberal plant for Edwards? There would be no point in trying to change my mind if that were the case, yet you persist. And if you have been successful in showing that, then why would you persist? Your actions make no sense, unless you truly thought I was a Conservative who had lost his way and needed advice or more information…but if that is the case, attacking me is very much the wrong way to go about the process…it just pushes Conservatives further away, and certainly does not endear us to unify with you and your candidate. And if the blog is as insignificant as you say, with as few readers as you say, why does the argument even matter to you. Will Flores called me insignificant to the race, yet he persisted, too.
RINOs are very strange creatures.
I voted in the 2008 Election. Bill Flores did not. By your own standard, it is HE who is responsible for Chet Edwards being in office, not I. Yet you vilify me? That’s really messed up.
The fact that you are surprised that I did not erase your comment tells every reader here that you really do not have a clue about how things operate on principle here. You should examine the evidence and use that for your basis of opinion, not your templated ideas and hopes. Your comment confirmed the topic of this post, verifying my accuracy in reporting: You think Bill Flores is a RINO. You have helped Chet Edwards’ cause more than I ever could if I even wanted to, with that simple statement on the record.
I have given you leeway on your two comments that do not stick to the topic at hand without personal attack. Find another topic upon which to somment, or further comments from you wil be moderated as set forth in the policies…which you would do well to read along with the rest of the static page. They, too, won’t fit your template, of course, but that does not change their veracity.

I really found your blog helpful. Although I know some about the topic, I haven’t ever come across the information that you wrote about. Thanks for your post.

Thank you, Freeman!
I am humbled by your simple words of thanks and appreciation. Yours, 1 in 1000 comments, is what I strive for in being a messenger, not the message. If I had an award for the best comment of the month, you would win August already…and you would win for the best of the whole last 12 months, too!
Thanks for chiming in. Please come back often! We put new stuff up every few days.
Cheers!
