Many Points of Origin - One Point of Departure

Alexis & Me – Part I Chapter 2

This chapter is a fascinating précis in and of itself about the origins of American society, law, culture, and habit.

Alexis defines the various distinct regions of the country as it was founded, and the origins of the peoples who settled it. It is in this chapter that he really sets America apart from its predecessors on the world stage, and, to the reader centuries later, the nations that have risen and fallen since our gestation, birth, and maturity.

A distinct stand out in this chapter for me is (more…)

Congratulations Bill Flores!

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

Congratulations to Bill Flores – Republican Nominee for the District 17 Congressional Seat!

We now have someone to run against Chet Edwards, and he’s a fine candidate against which the candle of Edwards pales.

Disappointed as I am about Rob Curnock losing the District 17 Congressional Race, it’s time for all Republicans to put the ABC Rule into effect and support Bill Flores for the seat currently held by Chet Edwards. As a non-Republican and a Conservative, I think you should support Bill Flores, as well.

If you voted in the Republican Primary, you need to vote for Bill Flores in November. Anything else would be bad.

Flores’ win doesn’t answer questions that will surely come up from the Edwards camp (this reporter already knows their strategy out of the gate, within mere hours of this primary being done!), but Bill Flores has the resources to fight this fight. It will be brutal, and some questions will need to be answered.

Fortunately for me, I can hang up the researcher hat, and archive all my Chet Edwards stuff. Rob Curnock would have needed every volunteer effort available, and I was ready with a Chet Edwards exposé every week with pictures, audio, video, and supporting documentation covering years of contradictions, sellouts, votes and anti-Constitutional activity.

However, with Flores as the victor, he will have well-paid campaign staff that will do his research for him, and I can return to finding work to support my family. My files will sit idly by waiting for another time.

While I’m not below assisting Bill Flores in the coming months to ensure that Chet Edwards loses, I am the last person he would turn to for help. So, I continue my national work, and invite you to join in. I’ll be there if Bill needs me, and he needn’t even say he’s honored to have my support and vote.

Congratulations, kudos and accolades to Bill Flores. He can be a much better Congressman than Chet Edwards, and he has my full support and vote. Since I alone am irrelevant to the cause, please make sure you do your part.

It’s as easy as ABC.

Stand By Your Man: Former McIntyre Campaign Manager Says Rob Curnock Will Win District 17 Runoff

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

American Write-In fave Laura V told me “So much for standing by your man” when she heard the topic of this post I was writing a few nights ago. So, perhaps you would like the following campaign theme song playing while you read…

Rod WallineI shared a table with Rod Walline, former Campaign Manager for Dave McIntyre, eleven days after the District 17 Congressional Primary in which Dave didn’t make the cut for the runoff. A vote count that Walline was not expecting, and he was still a bit jaded about the whole affair. One thing I can say about the McIntyre camp (more…)

Cone Of Silence

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

Well, District 17, the final stretch is upon us.

I was having lunch with a friend today, and realized how much I know that I haven’t shared with you, and how much you’ll never know if you don’t do your own legwork. He was kind enough to say that I put things in perspective and help sort some things out for folks.

I’m just pooped. Lord knows the candidates must be, too.

Thursday the 15th there’s a Tea Party in town. Looks like it will be a big kumbayah party for the GOP, with the candidates who didn’t make it lining up to support the one who does.

It’s just about all over except the counting…so go vote on Tuesday. So much of the decision has already been made for you  by the party forces behind the scene, but go make your voice heard.

Regardless of who you support, the decision must be as easy as ABC in the end.

Come Wednesday morning, I’m on the side of that guy.

I’m hoping to take the next four days off from the blog, do a little CTRL-ALT-DEL, and gear up as needed for the general election.

See you on the other side!

Every Flores Wants to Talk Except Bill Flores

The apple didn't fall far from the tree

March was an interesting month. The last six weeks or so, actually. Even the last few hours.

On March 7, a comment was posted to this blog, ostensibly from Rod Walline, former Campaign Manager for Dave McIntyre. It was the complete text of the message he sent to the Flores campaign endorsing Bill.

The problem is, the comment wasn’t from Rod.

It was from Will Flores. His IP address is the same as that of the comment supposedly from Rod – both before and since the comment was posted [*.*.*.127 - the same as emails from Will, as well]. But the comment had been submitted as from “Rod Walline” and even a bogus “rod@votemcintyre.com” email address was supplied.

It didn’t take long to figure that one out, and confirm with Rod that he had not posted the comment to my site nor had he given anyone permission to act in his stead identifying themselves as him.

From Rod: (more…)

Get A ROPE: Blank Check And Lone Star ‘Lie’ Catch Up With Bill Flores

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

No blank check?

Bill Flores uses his acronym “ROPE” to describe Reid, Obama, Pelosi, and Edwards. And he claims we didn’t give them a blank check in his latest mail piece:

Monday, the Curnock campaign released its latest Radio ad:

Voting Record

Now, if you don’t vote, you give the victors a free ride. And, as my dad always says, “If you don’t vote, you can’t gripe.” (Dad uses a different word.)

The Lone Star Project broke this story a week ago. Read the article (more…)

Tea Party Leader Endorses Rob Curnock for District 17 Congressional Seat

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Nancy Coppock

Write-ins will recall that back in February I met with Bill Flores’ Rookie Campaign Manager Matt Mackowiak under dubious circumstances. During that conversation, I advised him to get Bill acquainted with a local businesswoman, which he said he would – and didn’t do. I also advised him to get to know the Tea Party leaders: Angie Cox of Burleson, Toby Walker of Waco, and Nancy Coppock, leader of Bryan College Station Tea Party. He said they had, and that they were in good and on great terms, especially with the local one – meaning here in Brazos County.

I’d had lunch with Nancy Coppock the previous day (more…)

Why Bill Flores is NOT the Conservative or Pro-Life Choice

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

As I have traveled about the district lately, speaking with party and club leaders as well as voters and media, it seems the underlying reason why they aren’t voting for Bill Flores is a common one. Aside from the fact that Rob Curnock is simply the better qualified and more Conservative candidate who has lived in the district, voted in the district, and worked in the district for decades, the reasons why a conservative cannot vote for Flores start to show up after all the superlative reasons for voting for Curnock have been stated. So to speak, Flores’ qualifications fall below even the simplest reason to vote for Curnock.

Party Leaders are probably telling Curnock he can raise these issues as legitimate, because they are facts, but Curnock doesn’t have to sell against Flores with facts when Flores himself already touts them.

So, these are the facts, the first two being the ones that have been universally raised by the people I’ve encountered – and all facts that are referenced elsewhere on this blog if not linked directly in this piece (more…)
