Correction: I Know a Friend of My Children who is a Democrat

Regular American Writers will recall this comment of mine not so long ago.
I am referring to this part of the comment in particular:
I know fo no democrat who is a friend of my children…therefore my statement about Flores, who is a Democrat, holds true. It’s not hostile. It is fact.
I now know that someone whom I have known for a very long time (over 15 years) and whom my wife has known nearly all her life is, in fact, a Democrat.
And I would trust him with my wife, my kids, and our very lives. He is as close as family can get without being blood-related.
I will leave it up to him to share in the comments if he wants people to know who he is, or he can email me.
I will be glad to amend this further if anymore of my friends want to tell me they are Democrats. It would be helpful if you do tell me, because then perhaps I wouldn’t have such a convinced opinion of Democrats. Granted, I was one until 1996, so I think I have a good idea but, like living in Texas has gotten me ill-fitted for long bouts in the Ohio winters I grew up in, perhaps I have a misunderstanding that your coming forward could help me correct.
UPDATE: 9 February 2010 11:58PM – Okay, this is ridiculous. I have to correct my correction. The person mentioned above I now do not think I could trust with my wife and children and I probably shouldn’t have spoken so soon with him in mind when I posted this a week ago. However, I can still say I know a Democrat I would trust with my wife and children and our very lives.
His name is Murray, and he saved my life 17 years ago.
Update: 15 February 2010 – This seems to be a bit reactionary. If only I would pay attention to my own writings, I would recognize people misquoting me. It’s my children’s future that I don’t think a Democrat would be a friend of, not my kids themselves. Sheesh…now I have to fact check the reactionary comments. Oy!
