Beat Them While They Are Down and Keep Hitting the Democratic Bum Knee

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

[This is a duplicate post of my article on The People's Mob blog at Liberty First PAC]

The last time I cried when praying over the fate of our country was November 5, 2008. The day after Barack Obama was elected. That morning, as we start out every day, I gathered the family for our morning prayer. And I couldn’t make it through.

Tonight, I hit my knees thanking The Lord for Scott Brown’s victory. And I wept again.

That’s not really unusual for me, though, because I cry when I hear the Star Spangled Banner or see a National Cemetery.

Today, in Massachusetts, a shot was heard around the world, 234 years after the first one was fired in that same colony on a bridge near Concord. Each marking the beginning of a fight against despotism.

Barack Obama, to the delight of conservatives, has the Medusa touch. Far from the legendary Midas, all he touches turns to stone and plummets with amazing speed and predictability: (more…)

American Writes Is About Americans, Right?

Friday, January 15th, 2010

When I started this blog, it was and still is intended as a correspondence with Americans about our great country. Politics, by the nature of my hobby and now profession, have taken over this blog for the last six months, and, since I had no other venue for them, I was content to explore them further here. Politics are a very important part of what makes America right, and what makes this American write… (more…)

My Open Letter to TurboTax

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

I finished my taxes. I did them online with TurboTax. This year I did them online because I could have paid $100 or so in the store for TurboTax as I usually do, or I could actually use the online service and have them deduct the cost ($74.99) from my tax refund. Ergo, no cost out of pocket for me on the transaction.

When I finished, it gave me the opportunity to tell them how my experience was. They said be specific. I was, then they told me my entry was too long. Evidently I’m only allowed to be specific with up to 1024 characters. My specifics was three times that long.

So, that’s another stick in my craw and, instead of editing my comments, I simply am going to leave Intuit the URL for this blog post and tell them they can read what the rest of the world reads. With serach engine optimization, my comment will be forever in the ether, and with all the media and politicians that monitor my blog, I think that is serves them right for limiting my content when I was trying to be specific in order to help them retain my business. So, without further ado, here is the unedited comment to their question: (more…)

A #TX17 Philly At Lenny’s

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

As faithful American Write-Ins know, at least those who keep up with me and my favorite places to eat, I spend a fair share of lunchtimes at Lenny’s in Bryan, Texas.

There’s nothing bad about the place. Everything is good: Service, Cleanliness, Value and Food.

You also know that I consider owners Frank & Sam Lampo, longtime residenst and brothers, to be very good friends. All because they have treated my family and me the way anyone should expect to be treated anywhere they are doing business.

Frank & Sammy run a great ship. They’ll be my first suggestion when my kids start looking for jobs.

But I digress…mainly because if I didn’t, this post would be VERY short. So, here it is… (more…)

A New Examiner

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Well, I was asked in a comment on this blog what I meant by going to the national media with the Flores issue. Part of my nefarious plan is to become an Examiner, which I have now done. They brought me on board on December 29th. (more…)

Eric Finley Departs #TX17 Race

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Eric Finley, the Iraq & Afghanistan Veteran and business owner from Granbury, who entered the Republican primary for the Texas District 17 House seat in October, has withdrawn from the race. Finley contacted me directly with the following message: (more…)
